Hej hej,

Laetitia Ludewig artist and designer

I'm Laetitia, a painter and designer with a special love for imperfect and vintage pieces. My current obsession is in learning how to bring a sense of childlike wonder and play back into our everyday lives. I believe that creativity isn't about the "perfect" end result because there is no such thing as right or wrong in art (even though some people would love to convince you otherwise). Creating, for me, is much more about asking questions and experimenting.

My journey as an artist has been shaped by what may be considered an erratic decision: to move to Thailand at age sixteen. As a queer and highly sensitive person, living in another culture at such a young age forced me to confront how things are truly done differently depending on where you are in the world. This experience has led me to continue exploring intercultural living, art, and design. I've been asking questions like, what is the meaning of home for someone between cultures? How can we reinterpret traditional pieces to match our modern lives? And how can art be a bridge for people with diverse backgrounds?

Another thing I'd like to work on is designing products specifically for neurodivergent people. Being part of the community myself, I find that there is still a lack of products for sensory sensitivity. Most of what I found in my own research was either for children or looked like medical equipment. Not fun, age-inclusive, and certainly not something I would like to have in my own space.

Ultimately, I believe that we deserve more from the pieces in our homes: they should be a reflection of our passions, interests, and serve our unique needs. Thank you for being here and for coming along as I explore new ways to think about art and design.
